Willow Branch has grown from a life long love of flowers, gardening, art, nature and all things beautiful. Backgrounds in fine art and horticulture enable us to visualize unique combinations of color, form and texture with consideration for each individual couple and season.

Willow Branch is Stepmother/daughter team Cathy Coyle & Mary Pearl Monnes. We have been accused of speaking "florish" at family dinners & our studio is no stranger to dogs and babies. We only bicker about shades of burgundy and love buying each other seeds or David Austin roses or fancy clippers.

Cathy’s work with flowers began after graduating from the Corcoran College of Art and Design at a street corner flower stand in Georgetown. From there, she designed at various DC flower shops, worked under renowned dried floral artist, Georgia Vance, at Short Glade Farm & was co-owner of Local Color, a Staunton based flower & art shop.
In 2008, after moving to Nelson County, Va, the seed that is Willow Branch was planted when Cathy began designing for weddings and events from the barn converted to flower studio on her property.
Cathy is an avid gardener, amazing cook, & talented artist. She's a fan of crossword puzzles, a classic lager & her big red dog, Bernie.

Mary Pearl came to flowers with a BFA in art & theatre and a love of gardening. She began apprenticing Cathy in 2015, assisting with installation and asking lots of questions. In 2017, a twin studio separated by a breezeway was built so she could help with production. Now, Mary Pearl leads the design process and manages our installation team.
Mary Pearl lives with her husband, Ben & daughters Lulu & Mette in a house they built by hand. Ben is our super tall ladder climber, mends our arches & custom builds some of our design structures.
